About
Developer for 20 years. I turn complexity into working products. Technical with business vision.
I started programming in 2006, with PHP and Flash sites. Since then, I've sat in every chair: developer, tech lead, CTO, founder, teacher.
In 2011, I won an innovation contest with a monetization system for Twitter micro-influencers — companies paid for campaigns, users earned based on their reach. It was featured in Folha de São Paulo, The Next Web, Startupi. The model was a decade ahead: only in recent years has this market exploded. The project died three years later. Not for lack of technology — for lack of our ability to sell. It was the most expensive lesson I ever had about the difference between building product and building business.
I've worked in startups and companies of all sizes. At Setta, I shipped in 2 months what the team couldn't do in 6. At Juntos Somos Mais, I saved 2 apps with 2 junior devs in 15 days. I created Codar.me to teach developers to think — not just to use frameworks.
Beyond code
I'm a Christian, married, father. I live in Florianópolis. I believe integrity is non-negotiable — in code, in business, in life.
What I believe
- – Simplicity isn't a shortcut — it's discipline
- – Fundamentals before frameworks
- – Code is a means, not an end
- – Brutal honesty saves everyone's time
- – Small, focused teams outperform large, scattered ones
